Forging Safer Communities: Real-Time Command and Control for Public Safety with Lygos
In the critical field of public safety, every second counts. From emergency dispatch centers to strategic command posts, the ability to rapidly collect, understand, and act upon a flood of real-time information is the cornerstone of an effective response. The challenge is immense: data streams in from 911 calls, officer GPS, city wide cameras, and countless other sensors. Lygos provides the essential platform to master this complexity. It is a powerful command and control visualization solution that fuses these disparate data sources into a single, interactive Common Operational Picture (COP), empowering law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services to enhance situational awareness, accelerate response times, and build safer communities.
Use Cases:
The modern command center is the brain of any public safety operation. Lygos serves as its eyes and ears, transforming the main video wall from a simple collection of monitors into a dynamic, unified source of truth that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Imagine a multi agency EOC during a city wide emergency. On a large, seamless Lygos video wall, commanders and dispatchers have a complete, live overview:
- A Live, Multi Layered Geospatial Map: The Maps Module is the foundation, displaying a live map of the entire jurisdiction. On this map, critical information is layered and visualized in real-time:
- Live Incidents: Data from the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is streamed via the Data Module, showing 911 calls and active incidents as they are reported, with icons indicating the type and priority of the event.
- Asset Tracking: The real-time locations of all police vehicles, fire apparatus, and ambulances are shown, allowing for the immediate dispatch of the closest available unit.
- Camera Integration: The locations of all CCTV, traffic, and drone cameras are plotted. With a single click, an operator can bring up the live video feed for any camera in the vicinity of an incident using the Media Module.
- Real-Time Intelligence: Dashboards created with the Visualization Module track critical metrics, such as unit availability, response times, and incident volume by zone, giving commanders an at a glance understanding of their resource deployment.
- External Feeds: The Media Module integrates live local news broadcasts, social media monitoring for keywords related to the emergency, and live weather radar, providing comprehensive situational awareness.
