MAPS
Lygos can put multi-layer, interactive, real-time or animated maps on a part or all of a Videowall.
This unique Mapping (GIS) module is key to performing Visual Data Analytics on Videowalls.
Lygos can provide full resolution/scale maps on Videowalls displays due the its distributed screen node nature. This enables 100+ million pixel maps with thousands of markers or elements.
Users can zoom or pan the maps on videowalls from management and control clients.
Other configuration changes, control or interactions of users are immediately reflected to maps on videowall.
Users can also animate data on maps. If there is multiple data sources, users animation will cover all of them.
For example, there is sensor data from 2024-2025 on layer 1. Sales data from 2022-2025 on layer 2. Location data with no temporal value on layer 3. A User can animate between 2023-2025 and can see how each layer is change over the time. It will start with Location and Sales Layer, on 2024 Sensor data will start to animate too, until animation is over. During animation, user can zoom and pan to any location.
If the data is windowed and updating every minute. Users will see latest data on realtime mode. However can go to animation mode to animate back the data on the window any time.
Users can also style each map layer from UI.
Key Features:
- Users can add Data and Filter it
- Create Layers from Datasets and Filters
- Configure Layers
- Animate and Interact
Data & Logic
To use geographical (GIS) data in maps, first add your data to the Data Module in a compatible geographical format. These datasets can then be loaded into the Maps module. To see which Layer requires which data please press circled i on the header of Data Tabfor Data Requirements and Examples.
Datasets & Filters
This tab displays loaded Data sources.
- Toggle on the datasets or filters you want to display on the map.
- When a dataset is toggled on, the Add Layer menu appears.
- In the Add Layer menu:
- Name your layer.
- Select a compatible layer type based on the dataset's structure.
- Apply multiple filters and conditions for each dataset.
- Created filters can be toggled on and off as needed.
Layers
The Layers tab displays a list of added layers.
- Show or hide layers.
- Drag and drop layers to rearrange their order.
- The Base Layer will always remain on top.
Available Layer Types
- Tile Layer
- GeoJSON Layer
- Territory Layer
- Marker Layer
- Icon Layer
- Cluster Layer
- Heatmap Layer
- Tracking Layer
Settings
Animation Settings
You can determine start and end time of animation. These are the time values in the data. So if the start time is 2023 and end time is 2025, data will animate betwen 2023-2025. You can determine how long will animation take and other controls from Animation Tab.
Base Layers
- Base Layer – The primary tile layer for the map.
- Select an existing layer or use a TileSource to create a custom tile layer.
- Base Overlay – An optional overlay layer.
Layer Settings
- General settings for layers.
- Settings vary depending on the selected layer type.
Animation
Configure animation controls in this tab.
- Play, pause, stop, or loop animations.
- Adjust total animation duration.
- Crop animation to a specific time interval.
Import
If you have layers you frequently use across multiple maps, you can import existing layers without recreating them.
